Coult snatches point for leaders

Lewis Coult earned a point for league leaders Cowdenbeath in an entertaining 1-1 draw with struggling Stirling.

The hosts took the lead just before the half-hour mark when Gary Thom headed home John Crawley's free-kick.

Mark Ferry could have doubled their advantage minutes later but could not keep his long-range effort down.

The Miners hit back 10 minutes after the restart when Coult on hand to finish from Derek Lyle's cross.

Cowdenbeath now had the initiative and Lyle, in particular, pressed for a second but he fired over inside the area.

Coult tested Thomas Flynn with a header but was denied his second goal by a fine save.

The point leaves Cowdenbeath five points ahead of second-placed Arbroath while Stirling remain bottom.
