Cowdenbeath closing in

Cowdenbeath are one win away from promotion after a 2-0 victory over struggling Stirling.

A goal in each half moved the leaders seven points ahead of Arbroath with three games left, while Stirling are now five adrift at the bottom of the table.

Cowdenbeath took an early lead through Lewis Coult. Marc McKenzie's sixth-minute cross was neatly finished by Coult for his 13th league goal of the season.

Stirling missed a glorious chance to level when Scott Davidson was fouled in the area by John Armstrong and Davidson's spot-kick was well saved by Thomas Flynn down to his left.

Cowdenbeath wrapped up the three points in the 89th minute, as top scorer Marc McKenzie clinically fired past Stirling goalkeeper Callum Reidford for his 15th goal of the campaign.
