Sons defeated by superb Blue Brazil

Cowden moved back to within 2 points of league leaders Stenhousemuir with a comfertable victory over promotion rivals Dumbarton.

In terrible conditions Cowden took the lead through left back Kenny Adamson. Cowdens last game was almost a month ago and Adamson scored in that game and he made it 2 in 2 with a stunning low left foot shot into the wind from 25 yards. Dumbarton tried to get an equaliser but couldnt create many chances up against a resiliant Cowden rearguard. There challenge was weakened when they were reduced to 10 men when the already yellowed Michael Dunlop tripped McQuade as he was straight through.

2nd half Cowden played with the wind and strolled through the 2nd half. Legend Graeme Brown came of the bench to a rousing reception from the Cowden faithful. Top scorer McQuade wrapped the points up with a low left foot shot from the edge of the area which wrong footed the keeper.

2 points of top with 2 games in hand - a very nice position to be in. Next up is Berwick on Tuesday with a 7:45pm kick off
