First 3 Points On The Board

Cowdenbeath finally recorded their first league win of the league campaign with a victory over Clyde at Central Park. Jay Stein scored for the second league game in a row after 22 minutes from the edge of the area with a wonderful looping shot.

Cowden were the better side in the opening exchanges and had a free kick from Fairbairn and a shot from Stein both not hit the back of the net.  Clydes best chance of the whole game fell to Odunewu who headered right at Davie Hay.

Stein opened the scoring after being picking up John Robertson header before firing of the post from the edge of the area. Before half time McQuade almost scored but it was to be 1-0 at half time.

The 2nd half began again with Cowden on form. Wardlaw who was causing havoc in the Clyde defence had a shot well saved before Toorie Winter shot wide with little time remaining. Clyde almost got an undeserved equaliser as McLead shot wide but it was to be Cowden who picked up their first win of the league campaign.

Next up is a trip to Dumbarton on September the 19th.
