Blue Brazil march on

League leaders Cowdenbeath extended their lead at the top with a 2-0 win over play-off hopefuls Dumbarton.

The visitors got off to a flying start when Joseph Mbu rose highest to head home Marc McKenzie's corner in the third minute.

Lewis Coult came close to a second on the half-hour mark but steered his header just wide of goal.

Dumbarton were clearly stunned by the early goal and struggled to find any rhythm as the first half came to a close.

Chances were at a premium after the break but visitors continued to frustrate the Sons

McKenzie all but ensured victory 15 minutes from time with a fine strike from distance.

Victory moves Alan Adamson's men four points clear of second placed Arbroath whilst Dumbarton remain in the play-off places.
