Derby Point For Cowden

Last updated : 29 August 2009 By Cowden Mad
Cowden came away from New Bayview with a point but it could have been more after a stunning first half performance should have yielded a much bigger lead than just the 1.

It was a strange goal that opened the scoring - Jay Steins corner decieved the East Fife keeper and it bounced into the back of the net to send the vocal Cowdenbeath supports crazy. Cowden were on top and had all the possession in the first half but failed to add too their lead.

They were punished in the 2nd half when Paul McManus headered home from a corner. Both side had chances to win it after that but a draw was the end result.

Cowden again showed they can cope at this level - the style of Cowdens football has been a joy this year and I am sure all Cowden fans will agree that the players have been playing their hearts out and giving 100%. Keep up the good work lads!
