Cowden Slip Up

Last updated : 18 November 2008 By Cowden Mad
Cowden slipped 6 points behind Stenhousemuir and fell down to 4th in the league after a dissapointing defeat to the league leaders. It was a below par first half for Cowden which Stenny took full advantage off - firstly Gary Thom headed home from a Stoke City style long throw before ex Cowden striker Scott Dalziel headered home from a corner.

It was an uphill battle for Cowden which was made even harder when Jay Shields received his second booking for dissent and was sent off. A late Cowden rally was intitated when John Gemmell came on for Marek Tomana and Cowden deservedly got a goal back from ex Stenny star John Dempster. A late flurry of attacks on the Stenny goal didnt bring an equaliser that Cowden would not have deserved.

Cowden now travel south to take on Berwick. As per usual The Cowdenbeath Supporters Club are running a bus this Saturday (22 November) to Berwick for the match v constant rivals Berwick Rangers. The bus will depart from Central Park at 11.45am for yet another key match as Cowden try to get back on track. Come on and get on board and give the lads your support. Seats on the bus can be reserved in advance by phoning David Allan on 01383 724000 or by e-mail to daallan6754@aol.com.
