Cowden In Play-off Final!

Cowdenbeath secured their place in the play off final with a 2-0 win away to Alloa. Goals from Gareth Wardlaw and Paul McQuade secured a final against Brechin who defeated Airdrie 3-1 on aggregate.

In a nervy opening half chances were few and far between.  Prunty almost put Alloa ahead twice but after headering wide he saw his shot brilliantly saved by Davie Hay in the Cowden goal.  Cowden had the bulk of the posession but failed to create anything.

The second half was all Cowden though and it was only a matter of time before they scored - Wardlaw saw his shot saved but McBride was on hand to cross in for Wardlaw to fire in his 17th of the season and send the Cowdenbeath fans into ecstacy!

Alloa looked tired and another goal seemed only moments away - it finally came with 7 minutes remaining. McQuade firing past the keeper after great play from Fairbairn.
