Cowden Crash Out Of Cup

Cowdenbeath were knocked out of the Co-op Cup after a defeat to division 1 side Morton. After victory over Peterhead there was hope that Cowden could spring a suprise but the tie was as good as over after 12 minutes with Morton racing into a 2 goal lead.

To Cowdens credit they pulled a goal back through a Paul McQuade penalty on the half hour mark but another early goal in the second half ended the match as a contest and Morton comfertably played out the rest of the match.

Next up it's back to Ochilview again as Cowdenbeath look to bounce back and set out on the promotion trail with a match at Stenhousemuir v Jim McInally's East Stirling side. Let's get the League campaign off to a real flyer and see the same level of great support we had from Blue Brazil fans on our last visit. The Cowdenbeath Supporters Club as usual will be running a supporters bus to the match to make it easier for the faithful to do their bit. The bus will depart from Central Park this Saturday 8th August at 1.15pm. Seats on the bus can be pre-booked by contacting David Allan on 01383 724000 or at daallan6754@aol.com'
