Cowdenbeath twice came from a goal down to take 3 points back to Fife last Saturday. After the defeat to Stenny it was vital that Cowden bounced back to close the gap on the league leaders.

A defensive slip up allowed former Cowden player Darren Gribben in to put the Gers 1 up but only for a short period of time. On loan Hearts defender John Armstrong headering home to make it a very impressive 4 goals in 4 games!

Cowden dominated but could not take the lead before Gribben again scored, firing home from the edge of the box. Once again the lead was short lived as Cowden rallied and after some good work from John Gemmell, John Dempster was on hand to turn the ball into the back of the net.

It was to be Paul McQuade who would send the large Cowden support home happy with his 7th league goal of the campaign, shooting home from just inside the box.

Cowden now have a break due to their defeat in the Scottish Cup to Elgin. next game is at home to title rivals Dumbarton.
