Duo extend winless streaks with draw

Airdrie and Cowdenbeath extended their respective winless streaks as the pair battled out a 1-1 stalemate.

Dean Brett put the visitors ahead early on, only for Ryan Donnelly to equalise in the second half.

Airdrie are on a 10-match winless run, while it is now seven outings in all competitions since Cowdenbeath took maximum points.

Marc McKenzie picked out Brett in the third minute and the striker kept his cool to notch his first goal of the season with a low finish.

The hosts attempted to hit back after the break through Liam Watt, who met Marc Warren's cross but could not keep his six-yard header on target.

At the other end, Thomas O'Brien was equally wasteful with a header from a similar distance as he passed up the chance to put the game beyond the hosts.

And with just over 20 minutes left, Donnelly levelled affairs with a low finish from the edge of the box.
