Cowden fell to their 3rd defeat in a row after 2-1 loss to new table toppers Alloa. Alloa went 2-0 up thanks to goals from Prunty and Noble before Paul McQuade pulled a goal back. Cowden piled forward but could not snatch an equaliser.

Prunty opened the scoring after 16 minutes firing home from the edge of the box. Alloa were deservedly ahead and Cowden were struggling to make much impact in the game.  The 2nd half started off in the same manner and a mistake from Mark Baxter let Noble in who saw his first shot saved by Davie Hay but he made no mistake with the rebound.

Cowden then started to play some good football and Paul McQuade scored his 8th of the season to cut the gap in half.  Wardlaw saw 2 shots blocked before McQuade was given time to volley home from a couple of yards.  The introduction of Mark Ramsay was proving pivitol and he almost snatched a draw for Cowden but his header was well saved by the keeper.

This result means Alloa leap-frog the Blue Brazil at the top of the table.  Next up is Stenhousemuir away.
