Cowdenbeath opened up a 10 points lead at the top of the 3rd division with a comfertable victory over 3rd place side East Stirlingshire.

Both sides were minus a few key players and it was Cowden who started off better. Chances were few and far between but it was no suprise when Cowden opened the scoring. John Gemmells shot was saved by the keeper but the rebound was headed home by Brian Fairbairn (his 3rd goal v the Shire this season).

With both sides pushing for another goal that could prove pivotal chances were a plenty with both sides missing a few half chances. Finally a 2nd goal came and it was for Cowden. Jay Steins cross was headered home by on-loan Hearts defender John Armstrong.

Cowden saw out the game comfertably to seal the 3 points. Next up is an away game v Forfar on March 31st due to the international weekend this coming Saturday.
