Cowden Update 2010

Last updated : 09 January 2010 By Cowden Mad

News from Central Park this week:-

Jay Shields has been released from the club after a 2 year spell at Central Park.  The centre-midfielder failed to dislodge Craig Winter and Jon Robertson from central midfield and it was agreed that he should try and further his career elsewhere.  Blue Brazil Mad wishes Jay all the best.

Back in early stages of training are Danny Mackay, Darren McGregor and John Dempster. All have been out injured for what seems like an eternity and are all looking for games to get match fitness up.  All 3 will be required in what is going to be a hectic second half to the season.

Cowdens game with Arbroath rather unsuprisingly was postponed due to the weather that Britain has been experiencing.  Weather permitting the next game will be the Fife derby at New Bayview against East Fife.  This will be the 2nd meeting between the 2 sides and Cowden will be looking for another 3 points after winning 2-1 at Central Park (Fairbairn and Robertson with the goals).
