Borough Briggs Awaits

Last updated : 19 August 2008 By Cowden Mad
For the second time in recent weeks, Cowdenbeath have to make the long journey north to take on Elgin City. The 2 sides met recently in the Alba Challenge Cup and it was Cowdenbeath who booked their place in the 2nd round after easily winning thanks to goals in either half from Darren McGregor and Paul McQuade.

In the past Cowden have frequently run out winners up in Elgin - some past highlights from Borough Briggs include many 4-0 wins for the Blue Brazil. One sadder main memory of an away game v Elgin - Markus Paatelainen suffered a serious injury during Cowdenbeaths Championship season and was forced to sit out for the last few months of the season. He very nearly ended up not only missing a few months but he nearly ended up losing his career.

It is always a good day out up in Elgin. A nice social club awaits you at the ground - for any Cowden fans wanting to make the trip there is a bus heading up to the game run by the Cowdenbeath Supporters Club.

Departing from Central Park at 10:30am the bus will cost £15 for adults, £12 for OAPs and concessions or £25 for a family.

If anyone wants to book seats on the bus they can do so by contacting David Allan (daallan6754@aol.com)
